Watch Brave Hunters Rescue an Elk Stuck in the Mud

What would you do if you came across an elk stuck in a mud pit? Two brave hunters decided to risk their well-being and help free the animal.

Check out this video which documents what these guys did. They first attempt to free the elk using a tree limb, but that fails and ends up with one of the hunters having his leg injured by the panicked elk.

They finally have success and get the elk free by carefully securing it with rope. The other hunter was able to try and get leverage behind the elk with the tree limb from the first failed attempt. The real danger to these hunters was trying to avoid the elk once he was clear of the mud pit. It's not fun to be on the wrong end of an elk if he takes a dislike to you.

Mad props to these hunters for risking their health and making sure this elk lives to see another day. Honor is alive and well in our part of America.
