Wyoming Author And Illustrator Are Winning Big Time Awards
A pair of hard working, writing and drawing Wyomingites won big at the Western Heritage Awards.
Casey Day Rislov and Zachary Pullen are the creators of the 'Rowdy Randy' book series and were the recipients of a coveted Western Heritage Award at the recent 62nd awards dinner.
The awards are to recognize exceptional creative works in Western literature, music, TV and film and was held at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, OK.
The duo's 2nd book together 'The Rowdy Randy Wild West Show' won the award for the Literature Juvenile Book award.
Not only did the pair of Wyomingites attend the award ceremony, they were rubbing elbows with some of the celebrity guests and honorees. Like Wyoming author of the 'Longmire' series Craig Johnson and one of the show's actors Lou Diamond Phillips, who was inducted into the Western Heritage Awards Hall of Great Western Performers.
Rislov and Pullen's 'Rowdy Randy' is described as
the toughest cowgirl around
Even though Rowdy Randy is a horsefly
She acts taller than any tall tale. She might be easy to overlook, but Rowdy Randy definitely can't be ignored. She spends her days buzzing and biting all the creatures in her path, all the while stirring up a whole heap of trouble.
If you're lucky, you may see 'Rowdy Randy' buzzing around making special appearances, especially at book stores, schools and anywhere there may be trouble brewing.
