Why Wyoming’s Patriotism Stands Out In A Big Way
It's understandable to think that since Wyoming is one of the least populated states, we fall to the middle of the pack on many "Best in the U.S.A." lists. One list we're in the top 15 of is the most patriotic states in the U.S.A., and that's one that we take pride in.
Being a patriotic state means having residents who have, or are currently serving in, the armed forces, who show up at the polls for elections, and a large number of people who volunteer for either local or national organizations.
I've said it time and time again that Wyoming is one of, if not the most, charitable and most patriotic state I've ever been in. The number of homes flying the red, white, and blue is incredible—the crowds that show up anytime there's a charity raising money for a noble cause.
Another time Wyomingites show up is for our veterans. We love showing support for those who volunteered to protect the stars and stripes on the flag, and I've seen firsthand the love demonstrated for these men and women. Wyoming ranks third on the list in terms of veterans per capita.
It's fantastic to see how much Wyoming shows its love and support for the men and women of the armed forces who deserve it.
Even though Wyoming is ranked inside the top 15, I assume that we would rank much higher than 14th on the list of most patriotic states if its population were larger.
In order to determine where Americans have the most red, white and blue pride, WalletHub compared the states across 13 key indicators of patriotism. Our data set ranges from the state’s military enlistees and veterans to the share of adults who voted in the 2024 presidential election to AmeriCorps volunteers per capita.
