The North Team won last year’s game, 37-3. They have won eight of the last nine in the series.
The North leads the all-time series with 26 wins compared to 19 for the South. There have been three ties, which includes a weather-shortened game in 2009. The Wyoming Shrine Bowl began in 1974. The only year the game was not held was in 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.
The North Team’s head coach is Kirk McLaughlin of Big Horn. The South Team’s head coach is McKay Young from Star Valley.
There are two total changes to the original rosters that were released on March 23, 2023. One player from each team has opted not to play for various reasons.
Campbell County’s Cooper Stevens replaces Big Horn’s Dylan Greenough-Groom on the North roster.
Logan Jones from Glenrock replaces Dom Kaszas of Cheyenne East on the South roster.
This game is for graduated seniors only.
Following Saturday’s game, the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Game will be announced.
Congratulations to the 2023 Mike Priest Award recipients from Friday’s banquet. They are Cody’s Jace Grant on the North squad, and for the South squad, it was Robert Campbell of Cheyenne South.
