Like millions of NASCAR fans around the world, I spent Sunday trying to wait out the rain.  Watching rain soaked interviews, awkward banter between commentators and race officials in the hopes that the Great American Race would get the green flag.  But it was all for not.

NASCAR was forced to cancel the Daytona 500 for the first time ever in the races 54 year history, with the race re-scheduled for today at 1:30p (Eastern time).

Like many fans I was bummed and knew I'd either have to record the race or just settle for internet updates and radio coverage.  Then it happened.

NASCAR realizing the desire of their fans to watch the "Superbowl of Racing" decided to move the race into Prime Time on Monday night.  The call to "Start Your Engines" will now come at 7:02p (EasternTime) - That 5:02p for those of us in Casper and FOX will be the station, carrying the race this evening.

This is history in the making, as this will be the first time that the Daytona 500 will be run under the lights at Daytona International Speedway.

This is the best news a NASCAR fan could get - to help kick off a Monday!!  Happy Race Watching to all!
