We've heard quite a few stories this year about people getting upset in airports, busting through doors, and running onto the runway. That's normally not a good idea, but the Casper Natrona County International Airport is encouraging that, at least for one day.

Saturday, July 11, will be the first 'Run The Runway' in a couple of years at the airport. The run or walk 5k will give you a chance to get out, get some fresh air, and see the runway up close. I'm assuming you won't have to dodge incoming or outgoing aircraft, but you'll certainly have a front-row seat.

If you're interested, there is a catch. It's not a big deal, but to be involved, you'll need to register before the event. The registration period ends on July 6. There will be no same-day registration, so sign up now to avoid forgetting and missing out.

In addition to the run/walk, there will be sponsor booths, airport fire trucks, snacks, and freebies. To sign up, click the link below to reserve your spot. The registration fee is $15 (plus service fees) for participants aged 6+, and kids 5 and under are free. Check-in begins at 8:30, first run/walker out at 9.

All proceeds from the event will go to the Fly Casper Alliance Scholarship Fund. The Fly Casper Alliance Scholarship Fund is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit established to offset the high cost of flight time for students at Casper College pursuing a Commercial Pilot License through the Aviation program. All sponsorships and donations are tax-deductible.
