You never know what you're going to see land at the Casper/ Natrona County International Airport. I'm telling you, spend some time at the airport, and you're going to see some cool stuff.

Since the airport is one of the few in Wyoming with a U.S. Customs crew on call 24/7 and has large runways that can accommodate landing and take off of pretty much any aircraft, it makes it an easy choice for planes to decide to land.

You could see the President of the United States' Air Force One, a C-130 military transport plane, wildland fire planes, tankers, and helicopters, as well as a flock of turkeys or a pair of military fighter jets refueling with their engines running.

Yeah, I know, that's cool.

One of my favorite things to do is watch fighter jets take off, do maneuvers, and land. There's nothing like the sound of freedom screaming overhead.

Over the last few years, the sky has been jam-packed with firefighting planes, since we've had fires burning all around central Wyoming; the air tankers, surveillance and attack planes, and helicopters have been a regular sight.

It's also fantastic to see those welcome home ceremonies, which have happened from time to time over the years.

There's no doubt that having this airport here is vital to so many people. The jobs, flight training, business travel, personal travel, fire crews, and military crews rely on Casper and have for many years. The history between airplanes and Casper dates back to World War II.

Local Pilots Give Wyoming Kids A Free Flight

Does your kid want to be a pilot?

There is no way of knowing unless they get a chance to get in an airplane and get up there.

Thanks to a Wyoming chapter of EAA, (Experimental Aircraft Association), kids in Wheatland Wyoming got that chance this past weekend.

Local pilots offered free rides to all kids, breakfast included.

The hope is that maybe some of these kids will get that urge to want to fly and pursue a career as a pilot.

America needs more pilots.

EPIC 20th Annual Glendo Fly-iIn

This was the best event Glendo has ever held, other than the Eclipse of 2017.

The tiny town has a lot going for it, besides sitting at the edge of one of Wyoming's biggest and most famous reservoirs.

There's a little grass airstrip with a group of big shade trees right along the runway that is just perfect for camping.

Each year, the town hosts their annual Fly-in.

Pilots come from all over the region to camp and compete.

It's free to the public to join, camp, and watch.
