Two injuries and no fatalities were reported after a three-vehicle accident on southbound Interstate 25 in Casper on Monday afternoon, a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper said.

The Highway Patrol and local emergency responders responded to the 4 p.m. call of an accident involving two pickups and a car, Trooper Adam Bruning said.

Bruning said a ladder fell off one of the pickups. The car slowed to avoid the ladder, and it was hit from behind by the other pickup.

Two people were taken to the Wyoming Medical Center for their injuries, and they were responsive when they were in the ambulance. They were wearing their seat belts, Bruning said. "It could have been a lot worse."

Two citations will be issued, but the trooper declined to identify the charges or who would be charged.

Traffic was backed up on the highway from about Beverly Street to the South McKinley Street exits, but began moving after the scene was being cleared.
